Assignment #6 – Intro to Light Modifiers By Vania Elise . Assignment 6 was really foreign to me because I have never worked with any kind of lighting modifiers or in a professional photography studio before, so it was great experience for me! Luckily, I had an amazing team of people around that knew what they were doing… (Ahem, thank you to Susan and Matthew) The first shot is done with the lighting diagram (see below) instructions, it made for a great beauty shot to add to my portfolio. The rest were done by playing with the light modifiers to get different effects. I definitely need more practice with this to learn what it is I’m actually doing tech wise, otherwise I am just going by visual circumstances. Note from CB: Very remarkable photography here for a intern who had never worked in a photography studio before or worked with artificial lighting before. Granted having Matthew and Susan who have considerably more experience there made a signficant difference in the quality of her results, however her use of in camera cropping, a variety of interesting camera angles and post production is noteworthy. At the same time, here is another set of images that raise the never ending question of “where is the line?” when it comes to photoshop/hdr/color treatments. Personally, I think she hits some home runs here more than she strikes out….What do you think?
